The Good Shepherd:

by Scott Cole   Feb 6, 2015

I was broken and lost
A sheep with no way,
Searching for My Shepard
Of whom I had strayed.

Cold and hungry
No green pastures to dock,
No voice of My Shepard
No sign of my flock.

In a World full of sin
In a World full of strife,
I trusted My Shepard
To guide me in Life.

I searched for My Shepard
Each night and day,
Aware of the troubles
That may come my way.

I knew of the dangers
That lurked all around,
Sheep in wolf's clothing
And deep waters to drown.

I never gave up
Was patient to wait,
Trusted My Shepard
In him I have faith.

For he's The Good Shepard
There's a reason for that,
For if his sheep shall wonder
He will lead them back.

I kept that in mind
As I wondered about,
Knowing My Good Shepard
Would soon seek me out.

One day I heard a voice
On a hillside not far away,
There was both my flock
And Shepard I had strayed.

He turned from his flock
And looked my way,
Not a bit worried
But had plenty to say.

I knew you were safe
Were his words to me,
For everywhere you are
I shall also be.

I was there with you
Right by your side,
When you were lost
I still was your guide.

Not one moment passed
Nor one day went by,
That I lost track of you
Or you slipped my mind.

For you are a member
Of this flock that I lead,
So you are important
Important indeed.

Now that you're back
Please fall in line,
And fullfill your purpose
Like all sheep of mine.

I ran up the hillside
Back to my flock,
Ran to My Shepard
And found my spot.

I'm now with my flock
Amongst greenier pastures,
In view of My Shepard
My Savior; My Master.
