    I am catholic. And I have yet to read the Quran.

    But this line:

    "It is known; Loving Him for others turns a loving heart to stone."

    If you don't mind me asking, why does loving Him for others turns a loving heart to stone?

    I do not mind at all Everlasting : )

    In Islam, there is great emphasis for a sincerity to God in all forms of worship. Love, we believe is a worship. So, to make it as simple as I can; the Love for God and Loving God should not be for the sake of attaining anyone else's love, affection or attention. It is a personal bond between you and your Creator; Loving God for the sake of God, and no one else.

    Hope that helped : )

    It's slightly confusing because I read that line:

    "It is known; loving Him for others turns a loving heart to stone."

    I read it like ... I mean as if one loves God even for those who don't love Him, turns our loving heart to stone. So it made no sense.

    I mean kind of like... You love Him, but others don't love Him, but you say that your love for Him includes your love but even the love that those others don't have for him. In that case, I thought the love is sincere. How could it turn the loving heart to stone? It confused me because I thought one could love Him for others.by that I mean for the others who don't love Him.

    But I think what you meant with that line was that if you love Him so you could have the love of others, or to get something in return, your heart can turn to stone. With your explanation it makes more sense. Thank you.

    I think I understood the line you both are examining. I think what he meant that;

    When you love God, you should love him for God himself, not for the rewards you expect to be granted as a result of worshiping Him. One's love should be divine for the Lord, it should not be restricted and conditioned by expectations of God granting you something, or some other human being you are wishing to be with.

    We should not worship God only so that he rewards us what we yearn for, we should Love him purely for being him. And I actually do understand that point of view, from everyone's life.

    Most people run to God and pray the deepest when they are in trouble, when they are saddened and burdened. Most of us pray and plead for God's blessings when we are need, rarely do people feel the deep gratitude when they are living in prosperity, and when their lives is going just well.

    Thus what I understood from the quoted line, is that you should not love God because of other people, or for other people, if you shall believe in him and love him, it should be for the sake of your divine and pure real relationship between you and Him the Creator.

    As for the poem the expressions are really tender and soothing. It is important to be aware that worship and prayers and faith is never fulfilled without loving and having peace with every human being whom God created. To love other people is the real faith, you can never Love God if you dont love what he created and without being tender to the world.

    Nice poem and inspiring. Thank you
