True Friends:

There once was a Firefly
Who had no room to boast,
For the glow of his light
Was different than most.

The rest of the Fireflies
Their light would shine bright,
And they could find their way
In the dead of the night.

But poor Shadow the Firefly
His night light was so dim,
That the rest of the Fireflies
Made fun of him.

So by day and by night
When Shadow went for a fly,
He was the only Firefly
You could see in the sky.

After many years have passed by
The loneliness finally set in,
And poor Shadow the Firefly
Was in need of a friend.

There once was a Ladybug
Who was different from others,
For she had a hard time
Seeing bright lights and bright colors.

The rest of the Ladybugs
Their eyesight was just fine,
And everytime they went out
They always returned home on time.

But poor Blink the Ladybug
Her eyesight was so blur,
That the rest of the Ladybugs
Made fun of her.

So by day and by night
When Blink went for a fly,
She was the only Ladybug
You could see in the sky.

After many years have passed by
The loneliness finally set in,
And poor Blink the Ladybug
Was in need of a friend.

So both Shadow and Blink
Left their homes one day,
And went out in search
Of a friend which to play.

Shadow flew through the fields
And Blink searched out the ponds,
Both looking for someone
To which they could bond.

Out of nowhere came a hello
So Shadow looked to see who it was,
There on a leaf near the ponds edge
Was a sad and lonely little Ladybug.

My name is Blink said the Ladybug
Its very nice to meet you,
Hello Blink my name is Shadow
Its very nice to meet you too.

For the rest of that night
They both became great friends,
As each one told their story
From beginning to end.

Over the years Shadow and Blink
Were always seen side by side,
With Shadow always shining the way
For Blink across the dark sky.

And to this day Shadow and Blink
Still remain the best of friends,
Because they over-looked their differences
And saw the good each had within.
