Oasis.

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 14, 2015

I miss you like this is all there is - the desire to be with you.
Every morning, I want to say everything to you. Every night, I want
to fall into dreams with you.

Some days, I want to wake up to a world where our gardens never
opened in friendship, where you didn't give me a rose and a million springs blooming within your smile, within your eyes.

Because it hurts to walk through the conservatory we built, right
outside a Catholic church and grotto, petals running down our arms and laughter renewing the blood in our veins. What if I never handed you my heart? If my tongue of thorns never enclosed its secrets to your listening stem?

And now I've lost my hold on you
for good.

Maybe someday, I'll labor my heart in a better home,
where there are acres of eternity and your love for me
is not obligatory.

Picked at random because it had not been commented on, and I hate that - especially when the pieces are as moving and well written as this. Excellent write.
