Secret Millionaire

by Sunshine   Feb 23, 2015

Have I embraced all
the flaws that perfectly
shape my human-class,
that now I feel whole?

Dead stars shining bright
in the axis of my eyes,
cracks deepening in
this heart of floods and droughts,
a fire core blazing in my soul-
sunshine rays combed
within my hair,
hurricanes in my mind,
roots branching their
way into the deep
layers of life and soil
in this globe of death and tombs.

Showered with blizzards
of lightning and thunder
that awaken the lion
of spring running wild
in my arteries and veins;
roaring off the smoke
of clouds I often wear as a crown,
for the king of endurance
owns a kingdom in my blood.

Patterns of diverse moons
and planets clinging to my eyelashes,
stirring beneath my ears,
widening my vision to ponder upon
and listen passionately -
to the harmony in this
aligned chaos of mine;
for I've embraced my flaws
that perfectly shape my
origin as a human;
an identical twin to
this imperfect but priceless universe;

such a secret millionaire.

    Deep and meaningful poem which truly expresses the experience of life, what it holds and what it gives out, good and bad, and how to embrace it all, turning flaws and imperfections into something to cherish and appreciate. Touching story with a great title to go with it.

    Have I embraced all
    the flaws that perfectly
    shape my human-class,
    that now I feel whole?

    ^ This is such a beautiful start to the poem. we all have flaws and some of them are used against us a lot of times sadly. we have to learn to love ourselves first and then we can become who we want to be. You are whole and that is a great first step, but can you learn to live with those flaws?

    Dead stars shining bright
    in the axis of my eyes,
    cracks deepening in
    this heart of floods and droughts,
    a fire core blazing in my soul-
    sunshine rays combed
    within my hair,
    hurricanes in my mind,
    roots branching their
    way into the deep
    layers of life and soil
    in this globe of death and tombs.

    ^ wow this holds such powerful imagery within. The use of nature to describe how you feel here is great. it works well, because you used each disaster as a different emotion and that in itself is rare.

    Showered with blizzards
    of lightning and thunder
    that awaken the lion
    of spring running wild
    in my arteries and veins;
    roaring off the smoke
    of clouds I often wear as a crown,
    for the king of endurance
    owns a kingdom in my blood.

    ^ This is here the story turns and often we feel a shift when the weather clear and this is a perfect example. you felt the cold inside of you for the longest time, and now you realize that it doesn't last forever. while we might have been weak, you are coming back strong like a lion, and that is a great metaphor.

    Patterns of diverse moons
    and planets clinging to my eyelashes,
    stirring beneath my ears,
    widening my vision to ponder upon
    and listen passionately -
    to the harmony in this

    an identical twin to
    this imperfect but priceless universe;

    such a secret millionaire.

    ^ Beautiful ending here hon. It is interesting to see the poem through your eyes, but there is so much truth ion this because when people are sad they don't realize how beautiful the world is, they only stew on the darkness, but here you did a great job in showing that darkness but also showed what it can be like when you find that light, great poem 5/5

    This has the essence of what human nature is about and how has individual we view and interpret. I like the imagery that comes out with each verse as well as the uninterrupted flow...nicely penned. Congrats on the win!
