Contemplating Justice

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 27, 2015

I thought that the biggest fight in my life
was when I finally escaped your grip,
but little did I know that day was just the start.

My mind can't stop contemplating justice;
imagining the fear trembling through your bones
as they throw you in a cold concrete cell
and lock away the key.

But forever behind bars just doesn't seem enough,
and I want you to suffer in more depth,
like the torture you made me endure.

I don't quite know the outcome I want
or how I want this story to end,
but I do know that the scariest thing
you ever put me through was never knowing
what would happen next...

... and I do wonder if you now understand that fear,
never knowing what I will do tomorrow!

And if you do,
then maybe that is justice.

Just read Stolen Freedom and (the day they were submitted aside) I can see the connection with this piece and the weight on your mind when writing them. Maybe sometimes, the biggest victory we can have over such people is to hold our heads up, try and forget what has happened and move on with our lives. A cell would certainly help too, mind.
    A dark, well penned piece.
