I am a diamond
So precious so royal
The sun shines through me
Making me bright and attractive
I was once in a jewellery
Placed in a fabric lined jewelry case
Felt so bored and annoyed
Wished to be picked by someone
To be the symbol of eternal love
On a rainy day i met a man
Full of charm and eyes so bright
Staring at me, he picked me up
With care and admiration
My heart overwhelmed with joy
I am no more just a stone on sale
I am destined to be precious
I felt my life is so meaningful
Holding me tight he ran out
I looked in between his fingers
I saw his lady love
A lady so simple yet so attractive
With no time with no hesitation
He said the three little words
Her eyes sparkled
Brighter than any diamond
Holding her soft hands
He wore me on her finger
Promised to be together, forever
I felt so dignified
To witness their magnificent love
I became a part of their life
Like a pet been patted and kissed
I felt so proud and happy for them
One day the sky seemed to be so dark
The sun hid behind the clouds
No light no reflections in me
I could hear a fight
It grew stronger and stronger
And struck me like a thunder
I was thrown in the streets
My heart cracked
With no hope I stayed there
As the symbol of lost love
It was after a few days
That I was picked by a man
A man with long beard and swollen eyes
I couldn't recognise him
Until i heard him saying
" My love is lost forever"
Unbearable it was
To see my friend in such a state
I was taken home and placed
In a soft purple cloth
I got wet by his tears all day long
Years passed by and on a sunny day
I was surprised to see him
Full of charm and eyes so bright
Holding me in his hands so tight
He rushed to the jewellery
He sold me for money and said,
" A sick homeless child is waiting for me.
Your price will save his life.
I will come back and buy you one day",
he promised and left.
After years now look at me
To be on the finger of the saved child
Has made me more precious
My value bought a father
For the poor child
So meaningful is my life now
And the life of my friend too
I feel so delighted
To witness their love
Now i know that if love fails,
I am just a stone
