This is such a beautiful gem (: I love the wording and the message .. Writers or poets will always bother to write what they feel, think, and what they see as they travel their lives. How true! You have captured the essence of what poetry is to a writer and what a writer is to poetry...Congratulations on the win!

A simple piece written in a such a way that it allows those who are not interested in poetry or writing to understand why those things are such huge parts of others' lives. It also allows writers of all kinds to boil down their craft to such bare bones that those who have lost sight of why they do what they do can gain perspective again. A beautifully simple write from Maryanne this week.

Although short poems can sometimes lack something important, I feel this poem shows us how it can be done, and done well! Mary has captured the inner mindset of a writer here, and who better to understand the words, than her fellow poets! Short, but thought-provoking and powerful at the same time.
