A Sonnet to Sarah... (Bowlesian Sonnet)

by Robert Gardiner   Mar 12, 2015

Sarah, With Rhapsody, You Spell, My Soul... (Bowlesian Sonnet)

Sarah, With Rhapsody, You Spell, My Soul.
No Heaven, Like That, With Which You Bellow
Nothing, Like The Ecstasy, You Bestow,
Fascinated, You Leave Me, Captured, Whole.

Intoxicated, I Am, Every Time.
Your Very Presence, Leaves Me, Stupefied,
Swept Up, In A Whirlwind, Of Butterflies,
Enamored, Transfixed, With Pleasure, Sublime.

No Rapture, Like That, Which You Besot With.
Venus, Aphrodite, Lack, Such Magic.
Amidst, Your Splendor, I Dance, And Frolic.
Cloud Nine, You Have Me, Floating, Upon It.

Nothing, Out There, Exhilarates Me, More.
Delighted, You Leave Me, In An, Uproar...

    Hello Robert,

I haven't tried this sonnet form myself yet, although an Italian sonnet follows this rhyme scheme for the most part.

They are never easy to execute, so well done here,
