Such an emotionally-pulling write.... I just am a bit speechless after this! I love your honest and raw voice in this, and I can feel the tension and hurt in it, not being encouraged to share your feelings and talk about anything at all. I can't imagine that. It actually reminds me of when I've heard parents say "because I'm your father," or have that attitude of my words and my statements are "always right". That doesn't leave room or opportunity for you to express yourself or grow though. Everyone's voice should be heard.

I really like how you stressed how writing was your only way to speak, of love, of hate, of everything in your soul. And you know the paper and ink were there for you, a constant, when this person wouldn't care to hear.

I hope you have found (or find) someone now who will do the listening, instead of always you. You deserve that.

    Thanks for sharing this.

    Dear Liz,

This has to be one of your parents....only they could invoke such deep feelings of torment.

I know you will do it differently, because you have a gentle and caring heart and your children will have the best mum ever:)

They did not define you, they defined themselves. If you haven't done so already: close the door on yesterday and step into the bright light of the future. WE hear you loud and clear!!!

    Love, always

Top notch emotional poem this week by Poetess!

I was in awe of each line written in this poem!

I truly feel every reader who reads this poem can relate in some way... not to be heard or the fear of speaking and then to be ignored can shut a person down very quickly..

This poem can apply to all relationships and shows how powerful communication can be and how it can destroy a soul if not revived as well..

    A touching piece this week!

An excellent and powerful piece that really benefits from the way it is laid out.

Each line of this grabs at my heart strings and twists them bit by bit. I always listen to people and feel they don't listen to me as I have been depressed for years so it kind of comes with the territory.

Well written piece with such a strong meaning that i guess many people in this kind of relationship whether it be husband-wife daughter-father etc can relate to.

    Don't stop writing
