Evanesce (reverse nonet)

by Larry Chamberlin   Mar 14, 2015

Low
ceiling
here today,
I cannot see
the ground or the sky;
adrift here in the clouds.
Wondering if there'll ever
be time to feel solid again.
There's no one else in the universe.

    One of my favorite forms... such depth in this piece! I nodded my head along with Meme when she said there's a hint of claustrophobia. It was interesting and thought-provoking to me how you first described the images/atmosphere, then reaching further into the idea of not feeling like a "solid", and wondering if there is anyone else to be near and connect with, physically or emotionally.

    Also, on a side note, I liked how you used the verb of "Evanesce" for your title instead of the noun which I tend to hear more often.

    While reading this I got a sense of claustrophobia sonehow. Like being trapped in a stateless manner, not knowing whate is it or where is it. It got much depth in its few lines.

    Wonderful piece!
