Burden

by Dark Secrets   Mar 23, 2015

Slouching was never good,
for your back,
or soul

... yet you slouched
all the time

you said
the crimson burns
on your back,
would never allow you
to stand high
with pride
and those on your knees,
made them buckle
... made you kneel

I told you,
it's our faults that
make us human,
and to repent
from sin,
is what will make
you pure again

... yet you slouched still
lower,
... and lower
and allowed the fire
to consume you!
As I watched helplessly,
blinded by my tears
