Wearing you

by Karla   Apr 1, 2015

I look around
while everything sleeps.

still wearing you,
i get up and go to the window
just to be sure
of myself.

the universe is so generous:
it leaves me here a little longer
just to witness that
life goes on.

i wait silently
as time soothes the hours
because your Poetry still reminds me
of whom i still am.

and with eyes closed,
i make a great effort
to remember
how to be happy.

Hahahah. I love it. :,) as the time passes I feel like it’s so far from me. And the hope to be happy. So far away. And the beautie… met for a dream.
But inside. I know my happiness is out there. Even if it’s melenium away.
Which it has been at times. But I walk threw the dark… into the dark. And space folds upon itself and I can always see the truth. Even if it’s just a spell in my eye….

A solemn piece that touches on a lot emotion. I felt loneliness expressed when I read the second stanza, which I thought was so well done because the concept of "wearing you" invokes a feeling of presence. The third stanza was wonderfully bittersweet. I interpreted a sadness as I read it, which contrasted with how the writer included "the universe is so generous". Sarcasm maybe? It's too brilliantly subtle to tell. The writer also ended the piece beautifully

This poem is a tear magnet for the reader!

The title holds such graceful power and elegance for the entire piece.
Yearning the loss or breakup of a love is devastating and the heart continues to wear the memories of that person for years to come..

This poem by Karla is breathtaking and simply gorgeous, along with a very unique and touching format, heart driven piece that gets to the core of the readers emotions, AMAZING!

Vagueness is the most delicate art of poetry, as with any art. Are you remembering a departed one who has died? a lover who has stolen away? or admiring the works of a poet long dead but freshly discovered, one who has brought new perspective to your life?

This poem is at once immediately YOU in that you have to "get up and go to the window just to be sure of [your]self" and yet it is intricately bound with the Other, whoever that may be. Their smell permeates your wardrobe, their presence imbues you with purpose and awareness.

Why is the universe generous. Again, the possibilities. Have you survived and see the world in continuity? Have you experienced an ecstasy impossible to surpass but understand that life has meaning beyond such moments?

I sincerely hope that such moments fill your life for years to come and that you continue to share them with us, Karla.
