What our Eyes See!

by Zabadak   Apr 9, 2015

In the brightness of day, white light secretly harbours every colour known to the seeing eye,
It's colours are hidden until contact with something is made,
The white light splits and is absorbed!
Colour which cannot be absorbed is reflected!
Everything and everyone is seen as it is and as it should be.

This is what we see, it is real, and it is the truth!

People secretly harbour colour attributed to feelings and emotions!
Green for greed and envy, yellow for jealousy and cowardice, red for anger and rage, black for worry and depression!
These attributed colours are hidden and are only seen in expressions and words!
Those who cannot express them in these ways, hide them successfully, reflecting a mask which hides their true feelings and emotions!

This is what we see, it is real, and it can be either truth or lie!

In the darkness of night, void of light, still and sleeping, nothing has colour; all is flat and drab, and in this natural, unseen state - there are no masks!

Everything and everyone is seen, in our dark adjusted eyes, as it is, and as it should be!

This is what we know, it is real, and it is the truth!

Therefore, in what we see, it is only in our dealings with people that reality, truth and trust are to be questioned!

Excellent - and very true. Five stars.

I really like the poem, the structure and the layout, and also the powerful message it holds. Creative work.

As a suggestion, I would personally remove the exclamation marks from the end of every sentence? I know you like using these, but for me they should kind of make a specific impact of one line in particular, whereas you have them for every line here, so none of them really stand out. Does that make sense?

Powerful conclusion line, ending the poem with the final thoughts which sum up the point in the poem.

Yeah! Having looked them over, you are absolutely right about my use of exclamation marks! Must watch out for that in the future! Oops! Sorry! Lol!
