    Beautifully narrated.
Although the structure confused me a bit, but I agree with you that the three parts of the poem differ in content, which would probably make it difficult to come up with equally balanced pieces.

The punctuation also could be revised, I think the reader needs a pause in many places.
But I enjoyed this writing, great imagery within every line, and sensations so sincere.

~but I would take the incomparable cacophony
of my squalling thoughts that these
    departures inevitably bring~
    ^^^mesmerizing to say the least.

Thank you very much for sharing.

Sorry to miss this poem! Especially since it is a win and was on the front page!! Congratulations for that, and I can see why it would have been placed there!

That imagery you open with is lovely, but touching at the same time, to describe something in a mysterious way and yet still offer the vibe that this particular area holds a deep memory and something tragic had happened. I like how this stanza is a moment which takes you back to a memory, but he memory becomes the poem and how real it seems, every detail, so well portrayed!

Your ending Crystal was just so touching, it is one of the best, powerful endings I have read. It really leaves that reader with that imagery of that compass hanging with the memory of loss, and of longing.

Very perfect choice of title, it fits perfect but also is unique and catching.

Lovely poem to have a win with!
