Boy of stone

by Art K. aka CritiqualDad   Apr 14, 2015

Innocently, they watch her girlfriend sleep,
until their hands begin to touch.
Forsaken so long, his feelings so deep,
but maybe it was all too much?

One touch eradicates the despair,
as he caresses her face.
She goes slowly through his hair,
her fingers building up a maze.

In light of an Angel, he couldn't say,
three words his heart was screaming
She was so close, yet far away
would you believe, he wasn't dreaming

As if hit by Medusa's gaze,
petrified, he's turned to stone.
Hopes eternally she stays,
he just needs to be more grown

Her deep grey eyes,
keep calling for his lips.
But the stone never replies,
trapped in the eclipse.

Sweet angel, how could he miss?
He'll be forever left in debt.
On his forehead, a good night kiss,
stone statue with nothing but regret
