Cupboard love

I loved the girl of my heart,
The girl of my dreams,
Indeed I loved her, loved her dogs.
But she didn't obey my rules.
I tried to be a real man,
But she lied like rug.
She got me rough end of the stick,
And beaten my brains out,
As mad as a wrongly shot hog.
My heart was burning like veld fire,
And my soul was about to vanish.
I tried to show her my true colours,
But she was just a stubborn as a mule.
And she destroyed my world.
