Love Me Like You Do

by Baby Rainbow   Apr 22, 2015

You broke into my heart
with your crowbar of perseverance,
determined to make me give your love a chance.

At first I used to hate the way you love me like you do,
because deep down I feared that I would grow to love you too.

Your crowbar wasn't strong enough
to break through my insecurities,
and I refused to give you everything
I spent so long protecting.

But only now, after you have gone,
do I realise that our love was always there,
and your crowbar was never needed to enter my heart,
for I could never deny that I loved you
when I looked you in the eyes.

Now I will never get the chance to appreciate your love,
and that truth drowns my heart as I realise too late,
that no one could ever love me
like you do!
