Isolated Ways

There was once a time
where your voice would have said
that I meant the world to you,
and if truth be told
at that same time,
I would have said the same about you.

But throughout the years
something got thrown in our way and
everything suddenly changed.

And just like that,
we were living separate lives,
living in different worlds,
and we both went our isolated ways.

I don't know who you are any more,
but it feels like you now put the world before me,
just as I do with you,

and that is not how it used to be.

    Very interesting poem, Saff! Now, the question is, is this meant to relate to two very different parts of your life, or just one? I think it is about a female family member who abandoned you under the worst of circumstances, but most of it could also apply to a young man who you still hold very dear. Interesting?

    The poem is beautifully written, with thought, but not recrimination or hate! It simply appears to state fact; life as it has been and currently is. I really like it!

    This is sad ): Parting ways with someone is really hard. And how fast many things will change will really make you go crazy. It is terrible how the person who meant so much to you the other day will just be a stranger the next day. Lovely write here (:
