Daughter of Nature.

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 23, 2015

You bless the Earth with your soul,
gracing the lost wonders polluted
by a world consumed with greed -
yet you only give pure light,
allowing others to truly breathe, and
no longer choke on archaic promises
of green tomorrows.

Your wings vanquish the shadows
that have harvested darkness;
you reap beauty from the most
untraveled places, in hopes that
all will understand the ground
we walk on is sacred - thirsty
for love, for waltzes, for lasting
memories of each season, for fairy dust
that's real.

Mother Earth proudly calls you
home, and you dream in her
comfort under eternal maple trees...
knowing this treasure is to be
shared and adored, until the end
of all time.

Dedicated to the lovely Andrea (Maple Tree) on Earth Day, 2015!

Earth day tends to bring about some breathtaking poetry but this piece here should be highlighted because it stands out above the rest. Mary Anne goes into great detail, the true essence of nature with each and every line.
