Can I Be Your Girl?

by Spectacle of Serenity   Apr 28, 2015

Can I be your girl?
Though I don't have
that golden hair
of sea wave curls
brushed with sanity
of endless vanity.

Can I be your girl?
Though I don't have
those earrings of pearl
glittering like sprinkles
of water fame
for an elegant dame.

Can I be your girl?
Though I don't have
those lips painted twirl
with red cherries
of luscious-looking
--such breathtaking.

Hear me; I'm asking you
with words of lovely hue
Though I'm just a lady
of real simplicity,
In a world that swirl
Can I just be your girl?
