The Vow

by -Choke-On-MY-Halo-   Apr 29, 2015

She wrote in a memo pad:
"You don't have to tell me the truth
about your past, or have to break
out a tear for my benefit.

You were beautifully broken way
before we met, and that's alright.
I'm not going to be your angel;
that's for a bloody fact.

Truthfully I would rather be the
demon that marks your future
instead of the sweet blessed soul
that would want to try to save you.

That way I would have the ability
to leave a scar in your soul that
you'd probably never forget.--

Those were the words she had penned
a millennium ago,carelessly and,
without thought.

Tenderly placing a kiss on her Love's lips
the sounds of angered guardians begin.
Laughing darkly, she answers them.

"Had you done your so called 'job'
she wouldn't have been mine so I
thank you from the bottom of my
demonic heart. She's in better hands
than in the ones that she used to be in.
I'll protect, guide, and love her for the rest
of our immortal lives, that I vowed years ago.
Now buh-bye.

I do like a lot the personal message you have written here. I love how you started the first stanza here with a personal message, it seems to be about love or someone you care about who would never judge you. Then the second stanza leads the story on, and even though you would never judge them, you admit that you cannot be their angel, brcause you are too "dark" for that. You want to be yourself around them and that is why you are being honestly, and just like they love you, you love them for being honest. I love the scar line, it hints at the darkness you both feel, and after they are gone that mark will always be there to haunt them almost. The demons that you both hold, are not liking the love between you two. I love this poem overall because it does hold a ton of emotions. The darkness and sadness are mostly in the for front and I like that you put a little love and or friendship in there. so you are saying goodbye, in their physical body but you know they are going to a better place elsewhere. Great write 5/5
