Dashiel, I love the imagery you present us with here. The title alone for me is stunning and simple, yet complex in its own way. You give us the readers something to think about with the title. It seems like you went through the eyes of a bird and how much you are able to fly away and soar to freedom. The title in itself speaks volumes for the poem. That to me is what makes a good title. Beautiful wording captures the attention of the reader as well. I think there is also another hidden meaning here as well. and that is about choosing to 'fly' your own path, sure you can dream of being a bird but when we snap back to reality that's when we realize that we have the choice to fly or not. Overall this poem does well in a dreamers heart, because I am sure every single person has dreamt of flying away to their own place and finding the right path. excellent work. 5/5

Yes the title is an eye catcher and it reflects in the poem. Poetry is a land where your imagination is taken beyond your mind. I like the imagery you have painted within this short write...lovely!

That's one of the beauties of poetry. There a few more. ;)

I enjoyed the syntax in the stanzas. It added a different rhythm to reading the poem. Do you know why?

Because the stress in each word is arranged different by using that type of syntax.

    For instance,

NE'ver saw I --> the stress starts in NE.

I NEver Saw --- the stress goes on NE but this time is not the starting syllable.

Try learning meter. Trochaic, iambic... etc. Basically, the music or melody within a poem can be control by the stresses in each word. If the stresses in each word are arranged in certain patterns, then its easier to give the poem some melody. Though It takes a lot of work to arrange words, create a melody, and still sound fluent and concise.

But it's totally worthy and fun... when one has free time, that is.
