Tell Me About Us

by Meme   May 5, 2015

When I can no longer bear
the ache of agony and despair
of the distance between
Tell me about us

When I'm at the verge of sanity
and my mind races with inanity
before the moment I fall off
Tell me about us

When giving up feels like a cure
and this mind screams for no more
the moment I turn my back
Tell me about us

When I push your love away
and ask you to never stay
just as we reach the door
Tell me about us

When the pages in my calendar
are all marked and I surrender
to a reality without you
Tell me about us
.
.
.
As I live
As I choose
As I love
As I lose
As I fall
As I bruise
.
.
.
.
Hold my fragility for one last time
Lull me with your loving rhymes
Tell me about us
Then let me go

I loved the form it was posted it's nice to see when poets take advantage of the was the alignment can be done to their benefit. One stanza flowed into the next it was truly beautiful to read.

This is one of those beautifully worded poems i wish i could write, but too late for me, because you did it in a manner of which i couldn't. I love it and sure, i wish to live it.. Well done.

Such powerful wording Meme, and the repeated line being the title works well here.

I love the emotion you have put into this, and how the desperation is consistent throughout. It is a fine battle between holding on and letting go, and I love all of your little lists in each stanza to show what it is that you are feeling/thinking, and how you then beg for those words which will bring you comfort.

    I especially like the line:

When giving up feels like a cure

    - that is so powerful and so true, it shows that you have tried so much and it has failed you, so the only thing left to do seems like just to give up and let go.

I can so relate tot his poem, and really wanting someone to prove you wrong on this, to prove to you that they will stay no matter how much you try to push them away or fool them into thinking you no longer want or need them.

Really powerful poem Meme. I love it.
