Twisters.

by Poet on the Piano   May 11, 2015

[I'm done twisting over what I
was never meant to change.]

I can't fool myself into forgetting that
anxiety burned me, convinced me I
can't be safe. But now I'm ready to
meet the hurricanes, grant
them the wisdom to overwhelm
my past and wash me onto better
shores.

You are clearer than my stormy
heart. We balance each other out,
lighthouses for the unseen, for
the doubts we try not to bury
ourselves in.

Petals sing to the wind, memories
seep into my veins yet I know
there is always a beginning
with every end,

with every day I will run to
the blessing that is you
as a widower that chases the
storm into the sunset for
answers...

I will be open to
you.

To me, this poem is about accepting the significant other as he is. A wise choice, as we cannot be anyone else than ourselves.
It has been a while since I have read your poetry, dear girl, and you have grown yet again.
Lovely poetry, thank you for sharing:)
