My heart speaks a different language

by Dagmar Wilson   May 18, 2015

I am fighting this battle
against my inner heart,
"feelings being left untreated".

Time has reached its limit
with no room for me to hide,
I am drowning in fear;
the truth is near.

    Stunning and pretty, heartfelt and powerful little poem by Dagmar this week!

    Life struggles can make you feel like drowning, and to overcome any battle in life can be gut wrenching.. She has captured true strength within this poem... wonderful!!

    Okay before I comment there are a couple of grammar errors I would like to point out.

    I like in the first stanza last line, I think you should say " feelings are being left untreated" for the simple fact it would make more sense and flow better.

    The second error I saw is in the second stanza third line I think you could use a semi colon instead of a period. like this:

    I am drowning in fear;
    the truth is near.

    The period honestly threw me off.

    In life we all must fight our own battle, and a lot of times we lose, or feel like we are losing because of the feelings we have inside. Death is a part of life and we do fear it as a human race. But I love the simple meaning of this poem, what you are saying is that Despite how much pain there is inside your heart, we will all die someday. The emnotions can control us a lot of times and time doesn't slow down for anyone. we all grow older, which makes it feel like time is flying. anyways great poem with a strong message. 5/5
