Pace

by TheMask   May 18, 2015

Sometimes I feel like I'm being left behind
So I run to catch up
Sometimes I feel like I'm too far ahead
So I stroll to wait for them
But when I run I pass them
And when I stroll they pass me
Never able to walk hand in hand anymore
Never able to talk, laugh, or have fun with you
I see you smile with other people when I'm behind you
I hear your laughter when I'm in front of you
None of those feelings are my fault
The only time you look my way is when I drag you away
Even then it's not the feelings you once had for me
Only hatred, sadness, and confusion is all I see
So I a run ahead so I can hear your laughter
When I start to forget you I stroll so I can see you
Never again does our pace meet again

I think you could format this differently, but honestly all in all, it's amazing- capitalizing the first letter of every line gets a little confusing and not having any sort of stanza break up makes it hard to follow at times. The emotion, the hints of repetition, the feel and voice, it's all greatly penned.
