Liquid poetry

by Karla   May 26, 2015

I have nothing
but the sea
and it dies in me
like liquid poetry,
like foam and beauty.

and as i contemplate
what is behind,
i see ophelia calling me
to see her rues
floating in the sea.

i see virginia
crossing the river of memories
carrying my mossy heart,
my stony doubts.

they are in my life
like an imagined truth,
like mission and possibility.

don't think
i haven't tried.
i only know this way
to paradise.
( i only know what you fear)

come what may
never forget what i have told you.
the sirens will protect you.

Karla this is amazing, I love the tone you set, it reads (to me anyway) almost like a lullaby.

Added to favs cause i need to read it a few hundred times.

There is a touch of mysticism and a feel of the unknown which guide us as a poet. I guess that is what this poem speaks of. There is mystery and I especially like this ending:

    come what may
never forget what i have told you.
    the sirens will protect you.

^^Sirens are known for guiding sailors to their death but in this case it guides the person to its roots or to their goal. Well at least that is what I'm getting from this..nice read.
