Apparition in the Corner

by Rob   May 26, 2015

Her world is nothing but darkness and pain,
There she feels so alone and afraid,
Haunted inside by the void that won't die,
And chastised for rebellious choices she made...

She is oblivious that he is sitting there,
In a chair in the corner of her room,
And as she finally turns the lights off,
She has helped to seal her imminent doom...

She pulls the covers far over her head,
As she has done night after night,
And cries herself into darkness,
With her eyes shut very tight...

There she tries to escape the fear,
That haunts her so deep inside,
Terror takes the reigns once more,
He is the apparition in the night...

Now he floats above her,
Right above her tearful head,
Waiting for her sleep to come,
He is everything she will dread...

She is so tired of living in darkness,
She wishes life would just cease,
Then there would be no more cries,
Where in eternity she could rest in peace...

He has come to honor her request,
As he floats there and he waits,
He can sense the fear inside of her,
He has come to deal her fate...

And that's the way he likes it,
When her sleep has finally come,
Night after night he's there,
To watch her come undone...

He enters her caustic nightmare's,
He is the apparition of her dreams,
In the darkness where its cold inside,
And where nothing is as it seems...

The time has come and he enters her mind,
As she plea's her final cries,
No longer could she evade his touch,
And that is the night she died...
