The Final Dance

by Samuel Ernst   May 27, 2015

Gracefully flowing with the rhythm,
Dancing in eloquent splendor,
Seductively teasing my senses,
I grip her perfect hip,
Her hand upon my shoulder,
We spin, glide, and dip,
How long will the music play?
She smells of honey,
Her skin is warm,
Her hair is black like night,
Her eyes are grey,
Emotionless,
This Godless deity whom I hold,
Her lips are blood red,
Our dance is feverish and sensual,
Should this dance never end,
If I could only be so fortunate,
But alas the crescendo climaxes,
And thus our dance comes to a close,
I take my bow and let her take me,
For all dances much like this one,
Must end,
Life's cruel joke,
My Lady Death,
I bid thee farewell,
