Raised On A Farm:

by Scott Cole   May 28, 2015

I was raised on an Ant Farm
Behind a clear glass wall,
So my every move is seen
And where all that I crawl.

I was born in the nursery
Down on the ground floor,
Me and my other siblings
All three thousand or more.

Since I am still just a baby
Since I am still but an ant,
I can't have no solid foods
So I drink baby milk plant.

I can grow up really fast
Because that's what ants do,
And the next thing I know
It is time to start school.

I don't never need to study
So I never care if I learn,
I have a couple set of eyes
So I never have a concern.

If I ever have me a question
And I don't have even a clue,
My eyes will be straight ahead
And I can still cheat off of you.

Since all my grades are good
And because I have it like that,
Now that I have finally graduated
I will never have to come back.

It's time to become a grown up
And time for me to get a job,
I am a soldier ant in armor
Yeah I'm kinda like the mob.

I am in charge of all security
And I try to keep the peace,
So don't mess with my ants
Or either my ant hill please.

Cause I do have my back up
And I do have my war cry,
So if you want to be the first
Then you can be my fall guy.

After five years of working
It's time that I finally retire,
And I have to give up my job
To the new ant who was hired.

For the rest of all my days
There is but one thing to do,
To retrace all of my tracks
For any or all signs of food.

Then I bring it all back home
So that I can eat me a bite,
And whatever that is left over
I shall save for another night.

I guess you already know that
Cause of all this clear glass,
And I always see you looking
Just like your in some trance.

For I never can do anything
That you will never ever see,
But I do wish that you would
Please take your eyes off me.

Cause I am but a simple ant
That was raised on an Ant Farm,
And it's because you dug me up
Right out of your own backyard.
