Diary of a Rescue Dog - Tiny (Part One)

by Baby Rainbow   May 30, 2015

I didn't ask to be born into this world I didn't understand,
yet there I was; vulnerable and lost.
I had protection given by my mother; company from my siblings,
and I began to trust this human family
who created me for cash!

At six weeks old, some strangers came and took me away,
I yelped to my mother but she was nowhere to be seen -
come to think about it,
there was only me.

These strangers took me to a new house where I was all alone.
Exhausted and confused, I curled up with fear into a ball,
hiding my face with my tail.

They placed me in a metal crate,
in an empty, scary room,
then left me in the dark.

I am only six weeks old,
lost and helpless
in a world I don't understand!

I don't even know where to begin. I am a big animal lover and it breaks my heart to see how the trade these puppies in for cash.
All they want to do is keep the cash flow going. By the time those poor puppies are six weeks old they breeding the female again. It's a shame. They don't care who gets the puppy as long as they have the money. It is sad and thank you for haring this. I am sure there are many out there feeling the way you and I do.

    Wow wow wow,

I love point of view poems so much, because it always gives insight to what another person ( or in this case a dog is feeling or maybe cat) but this poem spoke volumes about what it is like when a new born is well born and how scary and dark it is to be taken away from the only family you have ever known. I do like the wording most here because you can picture the scene happening and you feel like you are the one who the main character is speaking of, you feel like the himan. 5/5
