Diary of a Rescue Dog - Baby (Part Two)

by Baby Rainbow   May 30, 2015

I am now eight weeks old,
in this world which I think I am beginning to understand.

The strangers who bought me have become friends of mine,
somewhat like my mother and siblings -
I guess they will just have to do.

My crate is like a den of safety,
complete with a blanket and a toy -
though I'm not in it often because I
snuggle in bed with my new family now.

I like my new pack, even though we speak a different language
and I can't seem to find anyone around who speaks like me -
but, they give me so much love and affection,
surely there is nothing else that I need?

I am eight weeks old,
beginning to feel safe in this new world
that I am trying to understand.

The future is certainly looking bright. A loving home and snuggle time in the bed.
Who wouldn't enjoy that. We all need love.

Love the continuation of the story. As we grow older no matter who we are, we begin to understand what life is like. For a pet compassion is needed as is patience, because they are a lot to handle. I love how you worded this one as well, saying like the new cage is comfortable but you really don't go in there often, because my new family is warm and welcoming to allow me to sleep on the bed. And there is not another dog in sight but that is okay because the family might be all they need. Loved that. I love how you put this in the puppies perspective again, and the title as well. They will always be our babies :)
