Diary of a Rescue Dog - Big Baby (Part Three)

by Baby Rainbow   May 30, 2015

I am currently twelve weeks old
and this world is ever-changing.
Every day there is something different,
something new to understand.

My family are changing too,
they seem to multiply,
coming in so many different shapes and sizes.
They all smell different, sound different,
and treat me different too.

At first I liked the cuddles
and being in their arms,
but now I feel so suffocated,
sometimes I can hardly breathe,
and my fragile bones are becoming sore
from being passed around like a toy.

I want to explore my surroundings
so I can learn from the nature around me,
but I find myself in human arms
more than I am on the ground.

The rules are changing vastly,
my developing brain can't seem to keep up.
I am no longer allowed to sleep with my pack,
since I made all their bed sheets wet.

Now I am sleeping alone in my crate,
but I don't understand what I did so wrong...

I am only twelve weeks old,
and I am already struggling in a world
that is becoming so hard to understand.

This part is sad yet so true. The puppy is getting older and now is time to introduce him to the outside to take care of business.
It requires patience and staying consistent so it won't have a accident in the house. We often get upset with the dog for urinating in the house when it is our fault for not taking it outside. We need to realize that the cutest puppy is getting older and for some reason we have a problem with it. You did an excellent job with your writes. 5/5

This one made me sad, but again it is well written, I believe this really happened and it is personal to you, so I will not say much, but I loved the trio of poem you have written, it was so interesting to see the dogs point of view, beautiful :)
