Character Assassination

by Michael D Nalley   May 31, 2015

Spirit's easier created than destroyed,
As several deadly weapons are employed.
In the year of our Lord blood has been spilled,
Though the Holy Spirit has never been killed.
It certainly has often been rejected.
Authority, it needs to be respected.
Do I always obey or do I just wait,
Will I change my mind before it is too late?
As we quickly judge, we will also be judged
Do we heed the call when we are gently nudged
Do we let him in, or try to keep him out?
He will come one day, knocking, there is no doubt.

Another one of your interesting pieces.
To me there is no greater spirit then the man above. And yes he is being rejected and we often ignore his authority. It's in a human nature to judge or being judged but if we continue on disregarding his power he will knock and that day is certainly coming..
This is what I personally gathered from this poem. Thank you for sharing
