Comments : I am not mad

Perfectly stated! If the whole package is not acceptable, they do not know what they're losing out on. What you should be mad at is that women who made history throughout time were redefined into so-called goddesses that could not possibly have existed. Be mad for example that the public thinks Cleopatra looked like Elizabeth Taylor, or that Frida Kahlo looks like Salma Hayek.

Yes, excellently written. But remember too, those women in those films put themselves there. Objectified, maybe, but often objectifying themselves in the process, so blame must be shared as far as that stanza is concerned. But, as above, really well written. Five from me. And on a side note, I see incredible beauty in all races, so hold your head high and be proud of your heritage.

Actually I envy you for being able to express many thoughts in a very simple and realistic language .... Fantastic in every sense.

The next poem you should write should be to all "those mothers". This is a heartbroken piece. My dear Lady define your own beauty, don't let anyone not even your own mom define you. People like to blame others and those mothers who are maybe heartbroken by their ex, most times their offspring suffer because of their own ignorance. You are beautiful believe in yourself.

Society has grown up with certain mental picture of a woman and the type they are but in actual fact it just goes to show how immature their thinking are! No one takes the time to see or know the person rather judges them from their outlook!

A well penned piece with truth spoken out without hesitation! An admirable write...Congrats on the win!

This poem had me on its title the moment I saw it. It's simple but it captures a soul's desire to keep on reading. This is at most depressing at times because it's true in some aspect sometimes it's just horrible what narrow minded people believe. The simple-ness of this poem was stunning and the emotions just killed you with in its way.

Yaki blew me away this week, this is the most powerful and rawest poem on this site as of now.

    Beautiful display of emotion.
There is no need to break this poem down, it speaks in high volumes of pure, raw emotion on how a precious soul feels when being judged, ridiculed and disrespected.

Top notch inspirational poem here... Powerful and well written!!
