Diary of a Rescue Dog - Number 128 (Part Ten)

by Baby Rainbow   Jun 1, 2015

I woke up in a strange place I had never been before,
the noise was almost deafening,
and the concrete floor was cold.

Dogs were barking everywhere
and kennel gates kept clanging,
it seemed like I was back inside
the biggest crate of my life so far.

I was in a pound with hundreds of dogs,
a few of which share my kennel,
but their paws are much bigger than mine, you see,
and their teeth are sharper too.

So back I went, at ten months old,
to the corner of my kennel,
cowering and shivering alone,
abandoned by the cruellest species
in the cruellest world I've ever known.
