Humming Bird:

by Scott Cole   Jun 2, 2015

I am a Humming Bird
I don't say a single word,
I'm the quietest lil thing
That you've never heard.

I am rarely ever seen
For I'm fast on my wings,
I never have the time
To whistle or even sing.

I'm always on the get go
Going from place to place,
Searching for signs of food
But at a really fast past.

I use up so much energy
Cause I fly way too fast,
If I don't eat every hour
Then I will run out of gas.

So I am out and all about
And I'm as fast as I can,
I don't have time to speak
Or to shake me any hands.

For my only thought is food
So that's all I'm gonna do,
I don't have time to play
Or a single second to lose.

Cause I only have one hour
For me to stuff my face,
And I always seem to be
At the wrong time or place.

Yes I do see you there
Down there looking at me,
But I'm in such a hurry
And I have flowers to be.

Cause time is running low
And I havnt had a bite,
If I don't eat really soon
I'll have to call it a night,

I can't keep wasting gas
Or my time flying around,
So I save when I am able
By keeping my cost down.

I'm the only bird in town
That can fly in reverse,
But it takes more energy
That's why I'm on alert.

I am a Humming Bird
And to tell you the truth,
I need some of that juice
To give me a little boost.
