The things I should have known

by Sarah Christine   Jul 6, 2004

Only if I had known,
it would turn out this way,
I wouldn't cry every night,
for the love you have not shown.
I should of seen
past your disposition,
maybe then my heart
wouldn't break,
I wouldn't?t be in this position.
I should have seen the signs,
shouldn't?t have been so blind,
should have read
between the lines,
instead of searching for
the love in you,
a love I try desperately to find.
Maybe I care a great deal more,
shouldn't?t have to dream alone,
I've never hurt like this before,
all the things I should have known.
It was foolish of me to believe,
that you were different
from the rest,
how could I even conceive,
breaking my heart,
you would do that best.
I should have known,
I'd never surpass second rate,
I know deep inside,
this is not my fate.
How long must I cry,
how much more of me
will you let die,
just so you can give and take,
I should have known
you would let my heart break.
For once in your life,
be a man,
tell me why you do this,
I know that you can.
disappointment inside
of me has grown,
silly me,
oh, the things I should have known
