Crossroads

by Chelsey   Jun 7, 2015

My prayer is that it all makes sense.
This poem.
This story.
This life-
With or without you.

I wonder what they call lovers like me; loving someone like you.
We must be a brand. We must be labeled as a group of
individuals whose hearts are both bullet proof and fragile.
That's the heart I carry for you, the heart you created for me.

I admit it's hard to hold on when my left hand clenches
it's fist around this relationship while the right yells to let go...
But love never looked so beautiful than in my daydreams of us

and that alone is the reason I've kept you.

It should be easy (going forward), but alone?
That's something I'd never choose.
Not since you.
Not since "us."

Yet at this crossroad where God chose not to take
us together, I'm still hoping it makes sense-
With or without you.
This poem.
This story.
This life.
