Never love again

Trying to write a poem is one of the hardest things to do
Cos while I think of things to write, I only think of you

I long for the day I no longer have you in my head
I long for the day I can smile and put my feelings to bed
You really were my soul mate and I still think it's true
But how can you be my soul mate when you don't think it too?

I can't believe you still have a hold on my heart
Even after all this time we've been apart
You're the one I think about each and every day
I know you don't feel it too. I wish you'd go away

One day, when I am over you, I can look back and smile
Cos even though I'm hurting now, I was happy for a while.

You promised you'd never leave me and always be my man
But you lied and broke my heart, that wasn't the plan

Maybe next time I'll think twice before I fall too deep
And I'll remember love is a promise that will not keep

Some people are lucky and find love that is true
For me that'll never happen, all thanks to you!
Cos like I said before, a little up above
You were my one true love.
