Genuinely excellent - suicide has never been described so well - a battle so many fight and lose. Likening suicide to a serial killer - excellent, heart-breaking poem! |

This is a wonderfully, skilful piece of writing, Saffie! Another highly interesting and quite unique concept, this time of suicide as a person stalking his prey to the bitter end! Now why did I automatically put a male persona to him? It is, under this poetic scenario, quite fitting to refer to suicide as murder, even though, in reality, we really know that it was what was happening to your friend that drove her to do what she did. I know you are angry about her leaving in such a way, and I know you have your own demons to battle with, but to me, suicide is not facing up to and winning over the demons; it is running away from them and letting them win! Going back to the poem, Saffie, I can see from your latest poems that you are also in this battle. Don't you dare give in and lose! Although it may not always feel like it, you are stronger than you think you are, and you have friends all around you who love and care for you; who would be devastated for life if you lost! A superb poem, Saffie, expertly crafted, very interesting, sad, and upsetting for the potential it expresses! |
