Anxiety

by Amanda Moreau   Jun 13, 2015

Chest constricts
Lungs struggle
Eyes water
Hands shake

Body screaming for breaths I can not take
Lost in my mind as head begins to ache

Chest constricts
Lungs struggle
Eyes water
Hands shake

Deep breathe and count to ten
Annoyed at having to do it time and time again

Chest constrict
Lungs struggle
Eyes water
Hands shake

The tears stream down my face
While I try to find my special place

Chest expands
Lungs inhale
eyes dry
Hands still

My mind comes back
My body falling slack
As I curse the world for all these damn anxiety attacks

    Amanda,

This is a great poem. Such a sharp, short, shock I feel into what it feels like to have anxiety. I have it a little and this is perfectly explained.
