My wish is that you kindly walk away
and never look back at me,

because sooner or later everybody vanishes,
and no one will be around to remember me
after I have gone.

And I wish,
oh I wish,
that you could only have loved me
as much as I do love you.

    I love the last stanza - the acknowledgement that you still love them:
    "as much as I do love you". So sad to have to live with love that's never returned quite the same way.
