A day in Indian Summer

by Pratap Rudra   Jun 13, 2015

A day in an Indian summer:
-----------------------------

Shadow of a Crow
Hanging by an electric pole
It flatters its wings,
On a hot summer evening

A wind gushes through the door
Papers fly, things fall
Smell of bee-hive all around

In a moment then,
All is quite

The pole stands alone
No shadow, no crow, no place to hide

Far in the distance
A copper chimney
Guns black smoke into the sky

Life remains still,
long days, long nights.

This really stired me when I visualised and felt it.
Amazing and good. Perfect picture of an Indian summer day. I am well familiar with it since I too, am an Indian.
    I like it.
