Bounded in the name of obsession

by Meme   Jun 20, 2015

You only see me; I grew up
knowing it, but you failed to
claim the one thing you craved
the most -my heart- I kept it
as far away as I could from you.

Because I knew every twisted
turn you took, for every word
someone else said and for every
look. You declared me as a
forbidden land to everyone...

...except for you!

Starring back at every reflection
I knew you were the darkness
that always shadowed me. How
could I ever escape your presence?

Never would I be free... I felt you
closing up the gap in between,
in the year I became the captive
in a prison made for only one!

---Confined---

You dug your nails so deep
but I refused to bleed, I kept
my aches buried inside. Never
will I give you the satisfaction
of marking me..

I might be here against my will,
chained to your dysfunctional
obsessive needs. But you won't
feed off my love, nor would I let
you taste my fears.

When you sliced through every
layer of my humanity; begging
for a new answer, you missed
the numbness in my jaded eyes.
I was no longer living even though
I was still alive....

I heard your screams, that voice
always haunted me in my dreams.

Then it was real,
.
.
and you were real,
.
.
but me...?
