The Window

by Michael D Nalley   Jun 22, 2015

Somewhere between fact and innuendo
there's usually a shaded window.
If there is a storm on the other side
Sometimes it is a wiser choice to hide
inside where it is always safe and warm
from many dangers of the raging storm.
Security may often be boring
while outside relentless rain is pouring
whether swimming or drowning, fight or flight
consequences as vast as day or night,
a second is often to many years
gravely influenced by numerous fears
requires a steady sobering rope
tying us to love, our only hope.
