No going back

by Matthew Alexander   Jun 24, 2015

There's a chill on my skin that just won't go away.
It's like the lingering feeling of the things that you say.
The sting of those words that made me wanna flee
But I stood strong in the face of your false love for me.
No matter the time, no matter the distance.
I hope you never find me, I won't let down my resistance.
You've broken it for good and it's my time to shine.
You won't hold me back, that's for sure this time.
Actions spoke louder than words, ones that were only a whisper.
She kept me hooked just enough to make sure I always miss her.
The yearning is gone and it's not coming back.
Don't crawl to me when you realize what you lack.

Can feel the pain and hurt in the poem... but also the power of "not looking back".
    Hang in there! :-)
    Very well written and expressed.

You got raw talent from within. Best is when you take emotions and write them on paper. I like your flow and use of words in every poem. Stay strong n write on.
