Death of a Poet (Senryu String)

by Maple Tree   Jun 24, 2015

Poetry remains
embedded within my thoughts,
a diary lost.

Until death finds me
unwritten mates with spirits
my breezes become-

Mere shadows of night
forsaken imagery, of
poet and her pen.

    I applaud you.
A seamless success inspite of the stiff parameters you afforded yourself.

    Great job.

    Hi,

Wonderful verse and superbly executed. This is the kind of work that other, like me, try emulate.

The first section, a self soothing thought that a lost poets diary is only the fabric of the poets soul, whereas the essence of the poetry is woven into the poet's mind and therefore cannot be lost so easily.

second section, this blends like a one heart beat into the next. The poet's thought, woven, unwritten creations will finally merge like ashes with natures breeze.

Final verse, this is excellent and lead on from 'become' to mere but without sacrificing each Senryu merit. This for me is true string form. The lasting image of a poet's shadow, ghost like holding her pen, forever immortalized.

    Well done indeed.

Adorable format that was very carefully written, in few lines she picked the right words to come up with beautiful, vivid imagery. A real gem.
