A Real Rock Star:

by Scott Cole   Jul 1, 2015

If you add some letters
About a man's bones,
That's carved out of
And Written in Stone.

Chiseled and hammered
And beaten somewhat,
Banged into shape
See what you got.

Scraped and dug out
Letter after letter,
Placing each letter
Until each word's better.

Put one word over there
And the next right here,
In clear and true vision
For all the Sightseers.

You can see what it says
It's spelled out in Stone,
If I could be any Rock Star
I'd be a Granite Headstone.

With your whole name on it
Written letter after letter,
From when you were born
Until your very last endeavor.

Your family we all love you
And yes you also do them,
Thanks for all the memories
You were such a great man.

All of this was spelled out
And written upon your stone,
It reads like your life history
The story of your great bones.
